The frontiers which were identified in the early years of FIM continue to
be relevant today, but the swiftness, range and drastic nature of global changes
over the past two decades have also had a direct effect on the current directions
of the program. Nowadays, four major Frontier focus areas are identified,
to pursue the following strategic goals:
To support communities and projects which unjustly suffer from any form of
racism, ethnic division, sexism and groups which are engaged in the struggle
for inclusive communities in church and society;
To support local initiatives to find long-term solutions to the problems
of political economic injustice and related ecological challenges;
To support efforts aiming at building just and pluralistic societies in
areas dominated by one group on the basis of one religion or ideology; and
To support the search for fresh and creative patterns of ecumenical life
and witness.
FIM
internships support communities which suffer from any form of racism,
initiatives to solve problems of economic injustice and efforts aiming at
building just and pluralist societies.
